🐶 TOBY – LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME 🧡

1 year old male small crossbreed

A sweet, gentle boy with kind eyes that tell a story he didn’t choose.

Right now, the world feels big and frightening. Sudden noises make him flinch. New places leave him unsure. What he needs most is not perfection, but patience, calm and reassurance.

He is good with other dogs and takes comfort from their presence. They help him feel less alone, showing him that life can be safe and predictable again. With people, he’s shy at first, but there is so much love quietly waiting beneath the fear.

Adoption would change everything for him.
A sofa to curl up on.
A routine he can rely on.
A human who lets him go at his own pace.

You don’t need to fix him. You just need to give him time.

By opening up your heart and home you will give him the chance to breathe, to build confidence, and to discover that kindness really does exist. And in doing so, you make space for another dog in need too.

If you can offer a calm home, a little patience and a lot of heart, this sweet boy would love to meet you.

Here is what Toby's foster mum says:

Toby is a sweet, gentle and incredibly endearing little boy who has made huge progress since arriving in foster care.

When Toby first arrived he was very anxious and unsure of the world around him. While he is still a sensitive soul, every day he becomes a little braver and a little more confident.

Toby is looking for a patient, understanding home that will allow him to settle at his own pace. He does not enjoy being approached quickly or picked up and much prefers to come to you when he feels comfortable. The lovely thing is that once you respect those boundaries, you start to see his affectionate and playful personality shine through.

Toby absolutely loves his food and is happily crate trained. He settles in his crate each evening without any fuss, usually around 10pm, and sleeps through until around 7.30am.

He has not yet been out on walks while in foster care, but is lead trained but he happily spends time exploring and playing in a secure garden and does not appear bothered by this. He is a bright little dog who has already learned his name and will happily come over when called, although he can still be reluctant to take food directly from your hand.

One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in Toby has been through his relationship with the resident dogs. He formed a strong bond with them, particularly Boris, and has learned so much by watching and interacting with confident canine companions. For this reason, we feel Toby would benefit enormously from living with another friendly, well-balanced dog who could continue to show him the ropes and help build his confidence.

Toby isn’t a difficult dog. He’s a sensitive dog. He simply needs a family willing to let trust develop naturally and at his pace.

In return, you’ll get the privilege of watching a very special little dog continue to blossom into the companion we know he’s capable of becoming.

If you think you could offer Toby the patient and loving home he deserves, we’d love to hear from you.
