Napoleon is a truly special boy with a gentle soul and so much love to give. At first, he can be a little shy when meeting new people, taking his time to feel safe and comfortable in unfamiliar situations. But once he begins to trust you, his personality shines through — he becomes a happy, affectionate companion who adores cuddles, companionship, and simply being close to his humans.

He has already shown how well he can bond with other dogs. Napoleon previously shared a kennel with Molly, a female of a similar size, and the two formed a lovely friendship before she was adopted. He is sociable and gets along well with both male and female dogs, so he could happily live in a home with an existing dog who can help build his confidence — though he’d also be just as content soaking up all the love as your one and only.

On walks, Napoleon is calm and well-mannered on the lead, making outings enjoyable and relaxed. Like many hunting breeds, he has a strong prey drive and loves to stay alert to his surroundings, so he will need a secure environment and a home without cats or small furry animals.

At home, Napoleon would thrive in a patient, understanding household that can give him the time he needs to settle in and come out of his shell. Once he feels safe, you’ll discover a loyal, loving dog who forms deep bonds and will be a devoted companion for life.

Napoleon has leishmania, a condition that is very common in dogs from certain regions. The important thing to know is that it is well managed and does not affect his quality of life at all. He enjoys life just like any other dog — playing, walking, and relaxing — and simply requires one tablet a day to keep everything under control.
